Planning a Bathroom Refit? Here Is What to Expect

A bathroom refit is one of the best investments you can make in your home. It adds value, improves your daily routine, and fixes problems you have been living with for years. But it can feel daunting if you have never done it before. Here is what to expect.

Day 1-2: Strip-out and preparation

The old suite, tiles, and flooring come out. This is the messiest part, but a good team will have dust sheets down and will clear everything into a skip at the end of each day. We also check the pipework and electrics at this stage and flag anything that needs attention.

Day 3-4: First fix and tiling

New pipework and electrics go in behind the walls. Once that is done, the tiling starts. This is where you begin to see your new bathroom take shape. Wall tiles go on first, then the floor.

Day 5-6: Second fix and fitting

The new suite gets installed: toilet, basin, shower or bath, taps, and any heated towel rails. Everything is connected and tested. Silicone seals go in around the bath and shower tray.

Day 7: Finishing touches

Final checks, grouting touch-ups, accessories fitted, and a thorough clean. We walk you through everything, make sure you are happy, and hand over any warranty paperwork. That is it: a brand new bathroom in a week.
